What You Need To Know
We are currently at Flaming Saddles in West Hollywood. Located at 8811 Santa Monica Blvd.
Please email your performance mix in MP3 format. Please DO NOT send in any other format than MP3. Please label the music with your first and last name followed by the title of the show.
There is a lot behind the venue, you may park there for a small fee or park at any of the meters around the city. For dress rehearsal there is parking in the neighborhood for free until 6 pm, but permits start after 6 pm so please do not leave your car there after 6 pm.
We have three sponsors that help us with dance space. The cost is $25 an hour. Please email us at clubposers@gmail.com for inquiries.
Yes, all the numbers are filmed, however they take about 2 weeks to be released after the show. The videos will be released via the website, Facebook, Vimeo, and Youtube. High quality downloads will be available via Vimeo. We do not send out DVD’s.
Posers has a strict “No one can use the same song” policy. All choreographers must “claim” a song, or mix of songs, before each show. We will not allow a song to be heard more than one time per show.
Also, we have a strict no Youtube downloaded music. It sounds great in your headphones but sounds like your Grandma mixed it in her basement on professional speakers. Absolutely no music that has been downloaded off Youtube.
We also prefer live concert mixes as they usually make for a better performance.
Tech Rehearsal starts at 10 am the day of the show. Each Choreographer will get 15-20 mins to rehearse his/her piece. Time slots will be decided 48 hours before dress rehearsal so that you may get your dancers the time and plan your days.
Posers starts at 10 pm sharp, call time is 9 pm the day of the show.
Yes…most of the time. We always invite the major dance agents in the Los Angeles area. If they are available they do come to the show. If you would like to invite your agent please have them send us an email and we will make sure they receive tickets and VIP bottle service. After all…we gotta make sure they taken care of if they taking care of us!
You may only use original choreography if you credit the choreographer who did the piece otherwise the choreography must be your own.
Each choreographer may use up to three songs and the mix may not be longer than 6 minutes. We encourage the use of live tracks (example: music from concerts) as it adds an element to the pieces.
Choreographers may pull their piece with zero consequences up until one week before the show. If you pull your piece with 7 days or less before the show you will be given one point. Three points in one year = a one year suspension from Posers and The 8 Count. if you pull your piece 48 hours or less before the show, or simply do not show up for tech rehearsals the day of the show, you are automatically given a one year suspension from both Posers and The 8 Count.
